What Are Dental Bridges?

Missing teeth can lead to the remaining teeth shifting into these gaps, resulting in a misaligned bite and potential jaw pain. Dental bridges, as fixed prosthetic devices, effectively fill these gaps, not only restoring your bite to its natural function but also preventing further dental complications. They serve as a durable solution for teeth loss due to various reasons, ensuring your teeth stay properly aligned and comfortable.

Creating and Installing a Bridge

Before we prepare you for a bridge, we will first reduce the size of your teeth in order for the bridge to comfortably fit over your teeth properly. Similarly to crowns, we will then take impressions and samples of your teeth to send to a dental laboratory in order for them to create a custom bridge for you. Likewise, we will provide you with a temporary crown or bridge until your permanent bridge is ready. On your next visit, we will then cement and attach the newly created bridge over your teeth.

Benefits Of Bridges

Durability

Dental bridges not only restore your bite to normal functionality by replacing missing teeth but also strengthen your existing teeth against decay and infection, similar to crowns. This dual benefit ensures that your dental health is maintained, preventing further damage and improving overall tooth durability.

Appearance

Dental bridges, crafted from porcelain or ceramic, closely mimic the appearance of your natural teeth, effectively restoring your smile by filling in the gaps left by missing teeth. Additionally, they play a crucial role in maintaining the alignment of your surrounding teeth, preventing them from shifting out of place and ensuring a well-aligned, aesthetically pleasing smile. This combination of restoring both the look and the orderly arrangement of teeth significantly enhances your dental appearance.
